Songtrix Gold

Certain applications are meant for everyone, for every computer user out there – this one is not. Songtrix is meant for musicians, and the Songtrix Gold edition is meant for advanced and pro level musicians. There is Silver edition that is meant for beginner level musicians. Get the Songtrix Gold application if you think you fit the bill and if you want to make professional arrangements in little time and with little effort.

Your PC must meet the following system requirements, should you decide to run Songtrix Gold on it: Pentium 4 1.5GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 50MB of free disk space, monitor capable of 800x600 resolution, sound card. The PC must be powered by Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. As a little side note, the system requirements are quite low – modern PCs will have no problem meeting them.

By default, when you launch the application, it presents you with a Help file that contains links to tutorial videos and a prompt that asks you what you want to do: create a new song, open an existing song, download a song, or import a midi file. If you don’t want to see these windows, you can change it so they are no longer displayed at startup.

The colorful Songtrix Gold presents the track you open in a large pane right in the middle. To the left there are sliders to adust the volume, tempo, and bass, drums, and so on. At the top there’s a toolbar with buttons for different functions the application performs, while at the bottom there are tabs for switching between the Mixer, Track, Staff, Network, and Tutorials.

With the Songtrix Gold application you can compose a chord sequence and apply styles to create a professional musical arrangement, you can use intuitive events to create your own masterpieces, you can explore new and original harmonic progressions for your music, you can compile and print staff notation effortlessly. You can load one of the songs the application comes with and play with it, or you can start from scratch and use Songtrix Gold’s functionality to come up with something beautiful.

Songtrix Gold is only free to try. You have 10 runs at your disposal to evaluate the functionality the application has to offer and decide if it’s worth purchasing a license.
